Special Relationships
William and Mary - Aaron’s commanding officer, Russ Burgin, is a medical doctor living near Washington DC. His wife Elizabeth is a Pat Tillman scholar and Ph.D. instructor at William and Mary’s School of Education, Military & Veteran Counseling Program, focused on veteran well-being. They started and earned sponsorship for a scholarship to help students focused on providing assistance to vet psychological needs and named it the “Toppen Memorial Scholarship” in honor of Aaron. The foundation cherishes its relationship with these outstanding folks.
Pam Toppen was introduced to Jessie Iwuji through mutual race sponsor friends during a Nascar event near Chicago. She was surprised and thrilled when he offered to place the OFHF logo on his race car. After the race, Pam was presented with the hood of the car displaying the logo and she and Jessie became fast friends. Jessie’s success and devotion to military causes is an inspiration to the OFHF and we are fortunate to know him.
